A hot bath and a massage with hot mustard oil or castord oil also does the trick.

Ginger taken in the form of ginger tea helps to reduce pain.

The capsules made of turmeric powder have anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric reduces the swelling in the joint, thus reducing pain. It basically blocks the production of protein that causes blood vessels to grow resulting in inflammation.

Lepam is also an effective herb, which solves the purpose.

Drink 4 to 5 cups of alfalfa tea everyday for 1 month. It has curative properties towards curing joint disorders.

Alcohol and smoking have negative effect on the body.

Make a paste of sandalwood and hot vinegar. Apply it on the affected area. It is an effective remedy to reduce swelling.

The guggulu tablets taken three times a day again prove to be useful in Kapha osteoarthritis.

Fish oil acts as a pain reliever. It also helps in reducing the inflammation that causes Osteoarthritis.

A non-fatty and easily digestible food, which does not make gases, is a must.

Make sure to indulge in light exercises everyday. Exercises strengthen the bones in the body and keeps one fit.

An unhealthy dieting habit of many people is consuming too much junk food. Junk food is unhealthy and cause of many disorders.

Celery seeds have anti-inflammatory properties as well. Add them to milk and consume everyday.
