Ayurvedic ways to cure gastritis
Gastritis is the swelling or inflammation of the mucus lining of the stomach. It is a serious disease, as it can lead to stomach ulcers and other life threatening stomach infections. Over eating, excess alcohol consumption and consumption of toxins are some of the reasons that cause this disease. In Ayurveda, Gastritis is called urdhvaga amlapitta.

Diet to prevent and cure gastritis
One should avoid sour food, particularly if he or she is suffering from gastritis. Avoid food containing too much oils and fats. Green vegetables and fresh ripened fruits should be regularly consumed. Lime, oranges and other citrus fruits also trigger the symptoms of gastritis. Milk helps reducing pain due to ulcers.
Some people are intolerant to medications for high blood pressure and other diseases. They should avoid antibiotics like aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs. Avoid alcohol and smoking. The intake of salt in the food should also be reduced.
Foods rich in Vitamin C like amla and carrots are highly recommended for gastritis patients. Vitamin C acts as an anti-oxidant. .Acid and toxin causing food should be avoided
Drink a lot of water. It helps keeping the body hydrated and also flushes out the germs and bacteria that cause diseases like gastritis. Yoghurt and curd also help in keeping the body dehydrated. So including them as a part of your diet is useful.
