Bronchitis is the inflammation of the Bronchi tube between nose and lungs. It might also include trachea and windpipe. It is a result of some bacterial or virus infection but there are numerous other factors that contribute to it.

Drinking habits, smoking, and tobacco release chemicals that trigger the starting points of number of diseases, bronchitis being the frontrunner among them. stress and poor lifestyle cause imbalance in the human body and reduce the immunity of the body to the virus or bacteria that causes bronchitis.

Herbal help to treat bronchitis yields desired results. There are many herbs that not only help cure bronchitis, but also have a positive effect on the overall health of an individual. Licorice is one such herb. It has a soothing effect on mucous membrane and due to the fact that glycyrrhizin is one of the main ingredients of its roots, Licorice works well as an anti inflammatory, anti oxidant and antiviral herb.

Mullein is another effective herb. It is consumed in the form of Mullein Tea and has anti-inflammatory properties that heal the air passage area between the nose and the lungs. It decreases coughing and mucus and has rejuvenation properties. Body massage is also a way to fight bronchitis as it eases the process of circulation in the body.

Ayurveda has some simple and homemade remedies to cure bronchitis. You can take one teaspoonful of turmeric powder with milk everyday. Turmeric clears the mucus and improves immunity. A mixture of ginger and pepper should be consumed. Consume healthy and nutritious diet along with considerable amount of water.

Tulsi leaves are considered as great soother to give relief from cough, chest tightness and chest pain. A Healthy Diet

It is advisable not to undermine the importance of a healthy diet. Make sure the diet consumed on a daily basis is nutritious and easily digestible. Mucus forming food like sugar, butter and processed foods should be avoided. Fresh fruits and vegetables are a must for the body. Water keeps body hydrated, so make sure you drink lots of water.

Fresh juices should be consumed at least thrice a day. A cup of milk with honey and nuts to increase the nutritional value is highly beneficial to the health. Salad, sprouts and wheat should be included as a part of daily nutritional habits.
