Introducing Ayurveda

Ayurveda is traditional medicine system of India. Literally meaning the complete knowledge for long life; Ayurveda not only concentrates on providing the cure for an ailment but also makes it a point to maintain the health of the individuals who are in the pink of their health. This India's own system of healing has been proving panacea for a number of diseases and thus earning it admirers in India and worldwide. With a history of over 5000 years Ayurveda boasts of a wealth of experience that is well preserved in its various texts and scriptures. While introducing ayurveda we would take pride to pay tribute to those great sages, scholars and physicians who burnt midnight oil to make true their goals of sarve bhavantu sukhinah, sarve santu nira-maya-ah.

In a more perfect way ayurveda is not only a system of healing instead it is a way of life that maintains a harmony within the human existence. For ayurveda human body consists of five elements (Panchamahabhutas) namely Akash (Space), Vayu (Air), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire) and Prithvi (Earth). These elements constitute the individual's nature or prakriti. In addition to these, there are three physical energies namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha and three mental energies Sattva, Rajas and Tamas.

As per concepts of ayurveda maintaining a perfect harmony with nature in accordance with natural brings complete physical health and peace of mind. Owing to these features numerous people are taking to ayurveda as a system of healing and a way of life.
