There are a number of home remedies for athlete's foot or Tinea Pedis. It is a
very common skin disease caused due to a fungal infection. The disease is
characterized by growth of small plant like fungus on foot. Warm and humid
climate is conducive for this kind of fungal growth.
Symptoms of Athletes foot
In most of the cases athlete's foot has no sign or symptoms and the person
suffering from it is even not aware of the disease. Some of the important
symptoms of Athelete's foot is itching and dry skin. In the extreme cases there
is peeling of skin. Some times it may receive cracks and bleeding starts.
Home remedies for Athlete's foot
- Vinegar: One of the most common home remedies for athlete's foot is vinegar. Due to its
acidic nature Vinegar is able to kill fungi. One can apply vinegar with cotton
pad. For best result one can deep the affected area in a bouquet of water mixed
with vinegar.
- Oil of oregano: Apply oil of oregano or tea tree oil on the affected part of the foot. Oil of
oregano is well known for its anti fungal qualities.
- Alcohol: It is one of the widely known disinfectants it becomes more effective when used
vinegar. You can apply alcohol by dipping the cotton balls in it.
- Black tea: Being rich in tannic acid black tea is able to kill the fungus. Soak you feet in
a water tub mixed with black tea.
- Salt: Add 1 to 1.5 cups of salt to water and dip the affected foot in it. You will get
relief from the disease.
- Garlic: Garlic juice or fresh garlic is one of the important home remedies for athlete's
foot.
