Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga, also called the yoga of awareness, is a combination of art, science and philosophy of one?s physical, mental and spiritual discipline, which ultimately leads to elevation of consciousness, healing of body and mind. In human body, power is thought to be lying in dormant form in the lower part of spines in a coiled form. That is why it is called Kundalini. This is one of the advance forms of yoga and meditation, which is capable of exploring the hidden power and abilities of an individual.

It can be said that, it is a combination of all forms of yoga. Kundalini yoga lays more emphasis on simple postures of yoga rather than practicing the complex ones as in hatha yoga. It generally uses the simple posture (asanas), the art of breath control (Pranayama), specific movements of fingers and hand (Mudras), chanting of mantras (Mantras), Meditation and locking of body parts (Bandhas). It is generally suggested to practice these exercises in a specific manner to activate the kundalis, which can generate some extraordinary power hidden within us.

Kundalini yoga has several physical and mental benefits. It helps in generating awareness within you as well as enhances the endurance power of an individual. One can win the control over his thinking and feelings with the help of this yoga. Moreover, it improves the digestive system and makes our nervous system strong.

However, improper activation of kundalini?s can lead to adverse effects also. It can lead to release of negative energy inside the body and mind leading to generation of madness, depression, breakdown of immune system and can even lead to commit suicide due to extreme depression.

Thus, kundalini yoga is a strong mean to achieve self-consciousness and self-recognition. One can control mind rather than being controlled by mind. A positive charge is being circulated while practicing kundalini yoga.
