Therapeutic yoga is the branch of yoga, which deals with the mental and physical conditions of an individual. It is though that yoga has a great power of healing but most of the people are only confined to the conventional methods of yoga due to lack of proper knowledge. A series of diseases like anxiety, insomnia, asthma, carpal tunnel syndrome, fatigue, menopause, headache, high blood pressure, back pain, menstruation, Flat Feet etc. has been successfully cured using therapeutic yoga.

Therapeutic yoga is different from other forms of yoga as it is very flexible in nature and can be adjusted according to the need of the patients, which differ from each other. Therapeutic yoga is carried out gently as most of the persons undergoing therapeutic yoga are not able to practice the complex and intense yoga.

Therapeutic yoga contains a series of deep stretching, meditation therapy and specialized breathing techniques. These techniques are also assisted with proper guidance and nursing and other health care services. This is why therapeutic yoga is generally carried out in some specialized centers, such as physical therapy centers, workshops for trauma victims, and hospitals etc. Therapeutic yoga is also beneficial for psychological aspect of human well being, such as treatment of trauma victims.

Several yoga schools around the world provide special trainings on therapeutic yoga, which involves the different tools and techniques used for therapeutic yoga to be implemented into treatment of various ailments.
