Ayurveda (Ayu + Veda), as the name itself suggests that Ayurveda is a term, which relates to the core knowledge for the longevity of life. Originated in India, it is the oldest method of treatment for over 5000 years. The basic knowledge of Ayuvedic system of medicine came from the Vedas and other ancient spiritual books and rishi munis. According to ayuveda, our body is made of five elements called panchmahabhutas. These are Akash (Space), Vayu(Air), Agni(Fire), Jal(Water) and Prithvi (Earth). These five elements are the foundation of all type of treatments in Ayurveda.
