Home remedies for burns are highly effective in the most first-degree cases of burns. Most of us come across the incidents where people get burnt while performing household chore or carrying out some work at commercial establishments. Although the patients with burn should be immediately shifted to hospital but with minor burn can be better taken care of with home remedies.

Classifying Burns:

In medical terminology burns are classified according to the depth.

First-degree burns: First-degree burns are superficial and marked by local inflammation on the skin. Sunburns can be placed into this category. Such kinds of burns nay exhibit redness or tenderness on the skin.

Second degree burns: Second-degree burns are deeper and marked by redness, pain, and inflammations and sometimes blisters.

Numbness in skin due to destruction of arteries and nerves

Home Remedies for Burns

Caution:

These home remedy for burns should only be tried if the is of first degree. If the burns are of higher degree the patients should be immediately shifted to hospital.

Colloidal Silver: Application of colloidal is one of the most effective home remedies for burns as it possess antibiotic and disinfectant qualities.

Vitamin A:

Application of lotions containing vitamin A also helps in the healing.

Plantain leaves:

It is one of the most sought after medicines for burns. These plants can be cultured in every corner of the world. For the best result one should wrap the wound with leavers of the plant. Here is a word of caution; one should confuse the plant with the vegetable of the same name.

Honey: Application of honey also offers relief to patients with burns. So one can also apply this home remedy.

Yogurt: The Yogurt is also a good home remedy for burns. To get the benefits one can put some yogurt for fifteen to twenty minutes on the affected part.

Egg: Application of egg white also offers some relief in burn.
